Rules

We will use the SPARC robot construction and match rules with the 1 lb robot class. The robot construction rules are available here, and the match rules are available here.

Please note: The SPARC rules include plastic only classes which we will not be utilizing.

Safety

A copy of the blank safety pledge all participants are required to sign is available here.

Weapon Lock

All robots are required to have a device to prevent unexpected motion of their weapons. These devices can be of various construction, for example, a metal pin which fits in holes designed into the robot chassis and weapon system to prevent motion. A simple clamp can also work. No matter the weapon lock design used, it should be carefully analyzed to ensure that it is capable of withstanding the full power of the robot’s weapon actuator(s).

While ideally all weapon motion would be prevented when the weapon lock is installed, a small amount of motion is inevitable due to tolerances.

Arena

The arena will be 45 in square with an MDF floor. Details are available here.
